1.) I was in so much pain and my future didn't look good!
Before I found somatics I had lost my ability to work, would have lived on pain medications just to survive the pain and become an invalid needing someone to do most things for me. After 9 months of daily somatics I fully recovered on my own. It's still to this day AMAZING! to me. I will be forever grateful for a friend who never stopped nudging me to try somatics. Somatics saved my life! How I thank God for my friend and for leading me to somatics! Here's my story.
Every now and again I would have really bad pain in my rt. hip and low back. I would suffer through trying to take as little medication as possible so I could function. My quaIity of life was not good. I would see the orthopedist for cortisone shots in my hip. After 3 yrs. or so of this suffering it got so bad I could hardly move.
Altogether, I had tried: the orthopedist, cortisone, steroids, relaxing massage, trigger point, deep tissue, acupuncture & chiropractic. Nothing gave lasting results. Still I could not sit, drive, bend, dress myself, bathe myself, use the restroom w/o excruciating pain or bend my head over the sink to brush my teeth. Also I could not sleep much because of the pain in my low back/sacrum area and also rt. hip so I was exhausted all the time which in turn made it hard for me to handle the stress all this suffering was causing me. All of my movements were very painful, done very slowly and with great caution
I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid in Jan 2003 and since then I have struggled with aches, pains, stiffness, tiredness and muscle fatigue.
I recently booked a Somatics taster session. I wanted to see if this method of relaxation would truly relax my muscles and ease the stresses of 21st century life.
Wow! This method is effective and remarkable. After just 10 minutes, my tired and heavy legs felt incredibly light. I booked a full session for the following week.
After my first full session, I again noticed the lightness, not just in my legs this time but all over. The muscles felt warm and revitalised. Gone were the pressure points where my body rested on the couch, instead my body flowed effortlessly over the couch surface. After the session I positively bounced with a renewed vigour in my step. I felt taller and more alert than I have in years. I even felt like I could run a marathon there and then! Wow, wow, wow.....
